Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • Red and green sprinkles for decoration

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually mix this dry ingredient into the wet mixture until well blended.
  • Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, mix powdered sugar with a little water to create a glaze, and drizzle it over the cookies. Decorate with red and green sprinkles.
